Nearly 25,000 Lost Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Storms
Around twenty-five thousand residences in south-east Queensland were left experiencing outages on the start of the week after severe thunderstorms swept through the area, bringing strong winds hitting 109km/h.
Large Ice Stones and Widespread Damage
Locals observed large ice chunks measuring up to 7 centimeters in certain regions. Weather authorities confirmed that various areas across the state had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Response teams were working to restore power throughout the affected regions, with nearly 70 crews deployed to handle the numerous electricity disruptions.
Southern State's Climate Difficulties
Meanwhile, around 1,000 residents in Victoria also experienced electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area recorded its most precipitation in over 500 days.
Rescue organizations received 598 requests for assistance across the area, mainly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and inundation.

Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of eastern Queensland this next several days as a atmospheric system continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.

Public health experts warned that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, particularly given the current weather patterns.
